DE PSC Chair to Leave
Longtime Delaware Public Service Commission Chairwoman Arnetta McRae will depart her post later this month to become CEO of the American Association of Blacks in Energy.
Chairwoman McRae joined the commission in 1996 and became its chair in 2001.
Previously, she was employed for 18 years as counsel with the DuPont Company, where she provided legal services for domestic and international business units. She also has held positions in commercial banking and human services organizations.
Over the course of her career in utilities regulation, Chair McRae has served in a number of capacities at regional and national levels. She is a former president of the Mid Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners. She also has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners (NARUC). Recently, she ended a two year term as Chair of NARUC’s International Relations Committee. She currently is a member of NARUC’s newly established Subcommittee on Utility Marketplace Access Partnership, Board of Directors of the National Regulatory Research Institute and the Advisory Council of the New Mexico State Center for Public Utilities. Additionally, Arnetta and her colleagues at the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control are Delaware’s representatives for the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and Eastern Interconnect State Planning Council.
Chairwoman McRae is a member of the Board of Education of New Castle County Vocational Technical School District, a past president of the Delaware School Boards Association and a past member of the Board of Directors and Northeast Region Director of the National Black Caucus of School Board Members. She also serves on the Chief Executive Officer’s Advisory Council of the Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay Council. Previously, she served on the Board of Directors of the Grand Opera House and the YWCA and has held leadership positions in a number of other community organizations. Chairwoman McRae holds a BS in Business Administration from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD and a JD from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.
