Kentucky American Water Helps Sponsor Children’s Dental Health Week Activities

Posted on by Mike

Kentucky American Water is among the sponsors of Children’s Dental Health Week activities called Explor-A-Smile, which runs through Friday at the Explorium of Lexington. The event is coordinated by the Blue Grass Dental Society. More than 1,000 first graders will participate in Explor-ASmile this week to learn about good dental health and enjoy free dental health screenings.

Kentucky American Water’s presentation for the students will focus on the value that drinking tap water brings to dental health. Drinking tap water rather than juices and sodas reduces the amount of sugary drinks a child consumes and provides them with the benefit of fluoride in tap water, both of which can help fight dental cavities. In addition, drinking tap water rather than sodas and juices saves money. One gallon of tap water costs less than a penny.

Kentucky American Water has helped sponsor Children’s Dental Health Week activities at the Explorium for more than 10 years.
