Announcing the Relaunch of NAWC.org & NewsFlow

Posted on by Carlos

Innovation is more than technology. It’s an evolution of ideas.  Thirty years ago if an organization wanted to educate about its mission, all they need do was schedule a face-to-face meeting, hold up graphs and pass out brochures. Personal computers and the Internet have expanded the ways in which we connect with people; websites allow brands to interact directly with a captive audience.

The NAWC is the voice of the private water industry which has long been an incubator of innovative solutions. In order to remain the go-to organization on sustainable and innovative water management, we needed our website, NAWC.org, to evolve into a dynamic and user-friendly tool, engineered to unify members and other water leaders on major areas of cooperation. Our goal was to make our website so indispensable to our members’ daily work lives that they would want to make it their homepage of choice.

On Monday, June 13 at the Women in Water Gala to Benefit Water For People, the NAWC, as the Gala’s presenting sponsor, had the opportunity to unveil its new website to the 450 water leaders in attendance. Our new website has been beautifully redesigned using bright colors and member photography. Visitors will find the very latest news about our industry, our members and their customers, and the NAWC. We also provide a helpful listing of information about upcoming events where water professionals will be gathering, and our industry’s most recent case studies. In the weeks that follow launch, active members will learn how to log into the Members-Only Area of the website to access information about NAWC’s committees.

Another important initiative has been to rethink our e-newsletter, NewsFlow. As you’ll notice, we’ve shifted to more of a blog type format and have rebranded our teaser email. The NAWC team is committed to keeping our NewsFlow blog fresh and full of interesting and relevant industry posts, and, occasionally you may even see a few personal reflections and observations. Because we’re fortunate to work in a field – water – that drives personal passion and commitment in many of us, the NewsFlow blog is equipped with the ability to share your favorite posts with your friends and colleagues via email, Facebook and/or Twitter. Please utilize the orange RSS feed button to set your browser so you never miss a post!

And in celebration of our all-new website and blog, NAWC is using QR code technology to raise awareness of Water For People, the global organization improving quality of life in developing countries by supporting the development of locally-sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities and hygiene education programs. To read more about QR codes and how they could be used to help the water industry, click here.

None of these amazing digital tools would have been possible without the tireless support of the NAWC Board and the Communications Committee, and the creativity of our design partners. Thank you to all who’ve helped me make our new online resources truly inspirational.
